This is Samsung’s first G-Sync compatible gaming monitor, featuring a 240Hz refresh rate

Samsung’s 27-inch curved gaming monitor, the CRG5, is now available in Malaysia at a retail price of RM1,699. Heavily-targeted towards gamers, the CRG5 is Samsung’s first gaming monitor to feature Nvidia’s G-Sync support, with other iterations in the past only supporting AMD’s FreeSync support instead. This means that if you’re using an Nvidia graphics that supports G-Sync, the monitor can help eliminate screen tearing, resulting in smoother, higher-fidelity visuals.

It pushes a Full HD resolution at 1920 x 1080, and it uses a curved vertical alignment (VA) panel that will have wide viewing angles, according to Samsung. For gamers, the 4ms response time is decent enough, while the display features a refresh rate of up to 240Hz. A “sturdy, ergonomic” stand props the monitor up, and is capable of 17 degrees of tilt.

Besides that, the CRG5 also has a 3000:1 contrast ratio, while Samsung tells us that its minimal bezel design means that it’s a “near edge-to-edge screen”. You also get the expected ports on the monitor, including two HDMI 2.0 connectors and a DisplayPort 1.2.

There is a set of display presets that users can choose from, with an on-screen menu allowing you to choose, and customise, these profiles based on different game types and demands.

If you’re interested to pick one up, the 27-inch Samsung CRG5 curved gaming monitor is now available at Samsung Online Stores and authorised dealers in Malaysia, for RM1,699. If you’ve got the cash to burn, the range-topping CRG9—the 49″ Dual QHD display—is also available, at RM5,999.
