PSA: Malaysian Galaxy Note 10 do not include some adapters in the box

If you watched my unboxing video of the Samsung Galaxy Note 10+, you may have noticed that there were two adapters included. But, as Malaysians began getting the local Samsung Galaxy Note 10 sets, we saw a bunch of comments about how their boxes didn’t include any adapters.

Side note: Before we go any further, some clarification is in order, as it seems that there’s some confusion with the word “adapter”. We’ve been getting a lot of questions on whether the Note 10 and Note 10+ come with a charger (which oddly, many refer to as an “adapter”). The answer is yes, the Note 10 and Note 10+ do come with an “adapter” aka charger.

In fact, this is what you get in the box with the Note 10 and Note 10+:

  • a clear case
  • a SIM ejection tool
  • a 25W travel “adapter”
  • A USB-C to USB-C cable
  • S Pen tips and a pair of tip removal tweezers
  • USB-C AKG wired earbuds with spare buds

If you want to know what “adapters” are not included in the box, read on.

Now, the unit that I unboxed was not a Malaysian unit–a fact I made very clear at the beginning of the video. I was then informed by Samsung Malaysia that the local sets would come with a transparent “jelly” case, something I also highlighted in the unboxing video. What I wasn’t told was that the local units would not come with any kind of adapters.

So, I was a little puzzled by the comments because Samsung Malaysia included these dongles in previous Galaxy flagships. Luckily for us, Amin actually bought two local Galaxy Note 10+ smartphones so we could verify those comments.

And, when we opened them, it indeed did not come with any adapter in the box. Both Galaxy Note 10+ boxes came with a little pouch that stores the little tweezer thing that you used to pull out your S Pen tips, plus a couple of additional S Pen tips. However, we were surprised to find that these boxes were very different between the global and Malaysian set.

Naturally, the stuff included in the box is also very different:

Left: Global set; Right: Malaysia set

As I went over in my unboxing video, the initial set that we unboxed comes with a USB-A to USB-C adapter, a micro USB to USB-C adapter, plus the tweezer thing and a couple of additional S Pen tips. In the Malaysian set, we get just the tweezer and a few additional S Pen tips.

So, for the purpose of not misleading you with my unboxing video, I’m posting this PSA to let you know that the Malaysian Galaxy Note 10 units do not come with any adapters.

If you’ve purchased a Malaysian Galaxy Note 10 or Note 10+, did you get any adapters in the box?
