Xiaomi Malaysia teases the Mi 9T Pro, official launch expected soon

Malaysians have been waiting for the Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro for awhile now, and it seems that we won’t have to wait much longer. Xiaomi Malaysia posted via its Facebook page a teaser that should mean that their flagship will be officially launched soon.

Telling the public, “It’s Time For Mi 9T Pro” seems like a thinly-veiled ramping up of expectations that the Mi 9T Pro will be launched soon—the only question here, of course, is regarding the price.

This follows news that the device is set to be officially launched in Europe on the 20th of August 2019, with expected prices for the variant with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage at €429 (about RM2,007), while the version with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage should retail for €479 (about RM2,241). However, given that European market pricing is usually significantly higher than Malaysian pricing, we expect the Mi 9T Pro to be priced somewhere below RM2,000.

Xiaomi Malaysia’s post also tallies with the fact that the Mi 9T Pro passed Malaysia’s SIRIM certification on August 8. This model number was identified as the Mi 9T Pro when it was listed on Bluetooth SIG’s website.

To recap, the Mi 9T Pro will come with a flagship-class Snapdragon 855 processor as opposed to the Snapdragon 730 on the Mi 9T. It will also be utilising a 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor, which will allow it to record 4K video at 60fps. Besides that, it is expected to be identical to its more affordable sibling.
