Vivo Malaysia is offering RM100 rebates for V15 & V15 Pro if your birthday is in August

You know how you can usually get some free crappy cake from a restaurant if you eat at it on your birthday? I mean, sometimes you get good stuff too, but often it’s some lame cake that’s been sitting in their freezer. Well, here’s an alternative: Spend your birthday in a Vivo store buying a Vivo V15 or V15 Pro instead.

Wait, hear me out.

Vivo Malaysia is having a special promotion in conjunction with Merdeka Day where they’ll be offering RM100 instant rebate whenever you purchase a Vivo V15 or V15 Pro smartphone. The catch is that this offer is only available for customers who have their birthdays in August. That’s why you can only get this offer at Vivo’s physical concept stores, collaboration partners and authorised dealers nationwide, because they’ll need to verify your birth date with your IC. So, you don’t have to buy it on your birthday, but your birthday will have to be in August.

Additionally, this promotion is available from the 19th of August to the 2nd of September 2019. With this instant cashback, the Vivo V15 Pro (8GB RAM) can be yours for RM1,799 while the V15 can be yours for RM1,199.

To recap, the Vivo V15 features a 6.53″ LCD Full HD+ display up front with no notch or punch hole. Inside, the handset is powered by a MediaTek Helio P70 processor mated to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Keeping the lights on is a 4,000 mAh battery (with support for fast-charging), while photos are handled by a triple camera 12MP+8MP(ultra wide)+5MP(depth) setup. For selfies, you’ve got a 32MP motorised shooter that pops up when you engage selfie mode.

Meanwhile, the Vivo V15 Pro is a more capable mid-ranger that trades the LCD panel on the V15 for a 6.39″ Super AMOLED display instead. At its core, the phone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 675 processor that’s mated to up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. However, because it’s a smaller phone, it also gets a smaller 3,700 mAh battery. That said, you do get a camera upgrade as the triple camera now features a 48MP main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide and a 5MP depth sensor. Up front, you still get the same 32MP motorised pop-up selfie shooter.
