MCMC did not issue approval letter for telco tower project in Semporna

The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has issued a statement denying that it has issued a letter of approval for the construction and completion of 25 telecommunication towers and other related works in Semporna, Sabah.

According to the commission, a letter that was allegedly signed by the MCMC director for Sabah and Labuan territory is fake. The commission has lodged a police report yesterday and they urge swift action to be taken on the responsible individuals that have circulated this letter.

The MCMC has urged the public to be vigilant and to be cautious of scams that misuse official MCMC letters and signatures of officers to offer contracts to any other parties.
