Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ 5G cameras are better than the P30 Pro according to DxOMark

The latest Galaxy Note 10 series flagship has just passed DxOMark’s test labs and they have given it a score of 113. This is the highest score yet on DxOMark Mobile but do note that this is the 5G variant of the Galaxy Note 10+.

On paper, the Galaxy Note 10+ 5G has an identical camera-array as the LTE version that we get here in Malaysia. It has a 12MP main camera that supports f/1.5-f/2.4 dual-aperture, a 16MP f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle camera, a 12MP f/2.1 telephoto camera and a 3D ToF shooter. Both main and telephoto cameras are optically stabilised like the previous Galaxy Note models.

In the photo department, the Galaxy Note 10+ 5G gets 118 points and for the video category, it achieves 101 points. According to DxOMark, the photo score of 118 points is just a point below the Huawei P30 Pro. They found the Note 10+ 5G to have fast and accurate auto-focus, while having accurate target exposures for both outdoors and indoors with wide dynamic range. Although it has similar hardware as the Galaxy S10 5G (DxoMark Mobile: 112), they added that some fine-tuning of processing algorithms have improved on the image quality.

For videos, the Galaxy Note 10+ 5G provides good detail for indoor and outdoor shots with fast autofocus and effective stabilisation. However, they found pinkish colour cast, coarse noise and loss of texture in low light situations.

Meanwhile, the front 10MP camera had scored 99 points for the selfie test. To break it down, the front camera did 103 points for the photo camera and 93 points for video. According to DxOMark, the new Note records 4K video for the front camera by default.
