[ UPDATE 9/08/2019 3:50PM ] There’s no price change for the OnePlus 7 Pro base model with 6GB RAM + 128GB storage. Mobile2Go has updated the price to RM2,999.
In less than three months, the OnePlus 7 Pro is finally getting a price cut as much as RM400. The OnePlus 7 Pro was launched in Malaysia in May and it is a flagship device that comes with a 6.67″ Quad HD dual-curved Fluid AMOLED display that pushes a high 90Hz refresh rate.
At the time of launch, the OnePlus 7 Pro was sold with a very high price tag especially the top of the line 12GB RAM and 256GB storage model. Authorised retailer Mobile2Go had revealed the price cut via Facebook and this will take effect starting today, the 9th of August 2019. Below is the new revised pricing:
OnePlus 7 Pro 6GB RAM + 128GB – RM2,999
OnePlus 7 Pro 8GB RAM + 256GB –RM3,699RM3,399
OnePlus 7 Pro 12GB RAM + 256GB –RM4,199RM3,799
These are official OnePlus Malaysia sets that are covered by a 2-year warranty. All three models are also bundled with a Dash Car Charger and cable, while the higher two models get additional Bullet V2 earphones.
The pricing is also reduced on the official OnePlus Malaysia online store on Lazada but the price for the base 6GB RAM + 128GB storage model remains unchanged at RM2,999.
Apart from having a fluid display, the OnePlus 7 Pro is a very capable flagship with a Snapdragon 855 processor and it uses a faster UFS 3.0 storage. For taking pictures, the device comes with a triple-camera array that consists of a 48MP f/1.6 main camera, an 8MP f/2.2 telephoto lens and a 16MP f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle shooter. For selfies, it features a pop-up 16MP front camera.
Powering the OnePlus 7 Pro is a large 4,000mAh battery that supports Warp Charge 30 via USB-C. Out of the box it runs on Oxygen OS 9.5 that’s based on Android 9.
The price reduction is certainly due since the OnePlus 7 Pro is priced higher than most flagship devices in the market. As a comparison, the Oppo Reno 10X Zoom with 8GB RAM + 256GB storage is priced at RM3,399, while the Huawei P30 Pro with 512GB storage was recently slashed to RM3,899. Even the latest Samsung Galaxy Note 10 with 256GB storage is launched at RM3,699 and the larger Note 10+ with 512GB storage is now offered for RM4,199 during the pre-order period.
