Apple has always done things their way, if most people are to be believed. Whether it’s a proprietary port, or equipping their smartphones with HD displays while other similarly priced smartphones are pushing higher resolutions, they’ve always been different.
So, I suppose it isn’t really that much a surprise that Apple has released a series of ASMR videos that are shot on the iPhone XS and XS Max. Well, Apple did give an explanation of sorts:
“ASMR, shot and recorded on iPhone, to relax wherever you are.”
Let’s forget about logic for a second, and sit back and enjoy Apple ASMR: Season 1:
We don’t know if “Shot on iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max” means that the audio track was recorded on an iPhone, although the video appears to have been shot on the iPhone models mentioned (Both the iPhone XS and XS Max can record audio in stereo).
However, it must be noted that the videos do sound alot better (with a more pronounced ASMR effect) when headphones are plugged in, which could have been Apple’s intention all along—to advertise their headphones—I didn’t use AirPods, though. The videos, shot on the iPhone XS and XS Max, do look stunning at 1080p, so perhaps that’s also part of what Apple is trying to showcase in the video.
“Additional software and professional hardware used.”
So what do you think Apple’s disclaimer above means? Do let us know in the comments section.
