Realme is expected to be the first smartphone maker to release a smartphone with a 64MP camera this coming Thursday. Its direct competitor, Redmi, is also about to release a new smartphone with a 64MP shooter. Just a day before Realme launches its new device, Redmi has scheduled a showcase to demonstrate its camera capabilities.
The Redmi event is taking place this Wednesday, 7th August 2019 and it is expected to be a demonstration from its imaging lab. From what we know so far, the new device will use Samsung’s new GW1 image sensor which is currently the highest resolution sensor for a mobile device. With its merging Tetracell technology, you can get either a highly detailed 64MP shot in ideal lighting or a brighter 16MP image in low light situations.
A few weeks ago, the Xiaomi sub-brand had shared a sample image that was shot from their new smartphone. At the moment, we still don’t know the name for this new device. It could be a Redmi Note 8 or perhaps it’s a brand new gaming-centric smartphone that will run on MediaTek’s new Helio G90 processor. All shall be revealed this coming Wednesday.
