10,000 units of ROG Phone II were sold out within 73 seconds

Without a doubt, the ROG Phone II by ASUS is probably the best value for money gaming smartphone if you’re after the best hardware specs. Last week, ASUS had revealed that they have received over 2 million pre-orders in less than 24 hours on JD.com and now they have revealed that they have sold 10,000 units in just 73 seconds in their very first flash sale.

It appears that the “over 2 million” pre-order isn’t exactly an actual pre-order. Turns out that it was merely a “pre-registration” with no payment required and it gives you the opportunity to participate in their flash sales.

According to the latest Weibo post by the ROG, they have sold 10,000 units during the first flash sale and the next opportunity to get it is on the 4th, 7th and 12th August 2019. The Weibo post also mentions that they have received over 2.5 million “pre-booking” and they are working hard to increase supplies to fulfil demand.

In China, the ROG Phone II is priced at 3,499CNY (about RM2,100) for the base 8GB RAM + 128GB storage model. Meanwhile, the top-spec model with 12GB RAM and 512GB storage is listed at 5,999CNY (about RM3,601). The ROG Phone II stands out for having a 120Hz AMOLED display and a Snapdragon 855+ processor with up to 12GB RAM and 512GB of storage. You can learn more from the announcement post.
