The upcoming ROG Phone II was recently unveiled by the Taiwanese tech company, and it comes with some stunning specs. A huge 6,000mAh battery, a 120Hz display that might actually be one of the best in the market today, as well as the first smartphone to be powered by Snapdragon’s latest flagship SoC—the Snapdragon 855+.
And now, pricing for the Chinese market has been revealed. It’s worth noting that China prices provide a good reference for local prices, based on other models in the past. However, the prices described aren’t official prices, which are subject to change in different markets/regions.
Pre-orders are now live on Chinese e-commerce site, JD.com, which reveal that the ROG Phone II will be available in 2 memory configurations: an 8GB/128GB version, and a bigger 12GB/512GB variant. There’s also an option that allows you to purchase an extended warranty, although not much information on the warranty is available to us right now.
The cheapest model, according to JD, is the Tencent-affliated version that comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. This is available on JD for ¥3,499 (around RM2,100), while you get 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage for ¥5,999 (around RM3,600).
The prices tally with those in a Weibo post by ROG, including some additional variants of the ROG Phone II. This includes the Zhizun version (¥7,999), about RM4,791) and the esports armoured version (¥12,999, about RM7,785). These additional variants aren’t available on the JD site yet, so we’ll have to keep our eyes out for any new updates.
Asus Malaysia has yet to announce pricing details for the ROG Phone II, but the first-gen ROG Phone retailed for RM3,499 for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage model while the 8GB RAM + 512GB storage version was sold at RM3,999. If (and that’s a big if) the Tencent version makes it to international markets, this could be one of most value-for-money devices in the market today. Then again, there’s also the possibility that these variants won’t make it for an international release.
