Vivo S1 with 32MP selfie camera and 4,500mAh battery is coming to Malaysia next week

The Vivo S1 is coming to Malaysia very soon and it is different from the one that’s sold in China. Unlike the Vivo V15 series, it doesn’t come with a pop-up selfie camera but it still retains a 32MP selfie shooter. The device was just launched in Indonesia and it’s officially coming to Malaysia next week.

The Vivo S1 comes with a 6.38″ Full HD+ display that comes with a tiny notch. It uses a Super AMOLED panel that supports an always-on display feature that can show the time when the phone is in sleep mode. In terms of colours, the device is available in Cosmic Green and Skyline Blue.

Powering the device is a MediaTek Helio P65 processor and in Indonesia, it comes with 4GB RAM and 128GB of storage. There are no physical fingerprint sensors at the rear, instead, it gets an in-display fingerprint sensor.

Another nice inclusion is a smart button which you can use to activate Google Assistant. You can also double press the button to bring up Vivo’s Jovi Image Recogniser. According to Vivo, this feature can be used to search for similar-looking items on eCommerce platforms.

For taking pictures, the S1 comes with a 16MP f/1.78 (Sony IMX499) main camera, an 8MP f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle shooter and a 2MP f/2.4 depth camera. Powering the device is a 4,500mAh battery that supports dual-engine fast charging via a microUSB port.

If you prefer to use your own set of headphones, the S1 still retains a 3.5mm headphone jack. Out of the box, it runs on FunTouch OS 9 that’s based on Android 9 Pie.

The Malaysian launch is taking place on 24th July 2019. According to retailer DirectD, the S1 will be priced at RM1,X99 and it will come with 6GB RAM + 128GB of storage. Stay tuned to us for the full details after the launch.
