Leakster, Ice Universe, is back at it again. After revealing benchmark scores that suggest that the Exynos 9825-powered Samsung Galaxy Note 10 will be even faster than the Galaxy S10, he’s now given some enticing details on the camera setup of the much-awaited Galaxy Note 10.
Apparently, the Galaxy Note 10 will utilise the same triple-camera module (S5K2L4) at the rear as Samsung’s current flagship, the Galaxy S10, although Samsung will be including a “very technical feature” to the camera.
According to the Tweet, this camera module will be the last one in which Samsung uses the 1.4μm camera, and Samsung’s next Galaxy S11’s camera “will be a new beginning.” This may sound rather disappointing for purchasers who are planning to upgrade to the Note 10 soon, but it’s worth remembering that while S-series devices usually represent a big step up in technology from the previous year, the Note series tends to provide a more incremental upgrade that fine-tunes Samsung’s latest tech.
So what’s this primary feature that the leak is teasing, then? It could be Samsung’s Night Mode, although that’s already available on the Galaxy S10+. Perhaps a better guess could be the addition of a 3D Time-of-Flight (ToF) sensor, which is only available on the Galaxy S10 5G as of now.
This should give Samsung the edge over competitors, Apple, who are rumoured to be implementing ToF in their iPhone lineup in 2020. However, there are already a few phones that have ToF sensors—namely the Huawei P30 Pro and the Honor View 20, among others.
So based on the leak, the Samsung Galaxy Note 10’s camera specs could be as follows:
