Astro GO is finally updating its old interface

Astro’s streaming service, recently ranked as the #1 most frequently used paid video streaming service in Malaysia, is rolling out an update that will bring a few new features to Astro GO, along with a refreshed look for the interface. This comes after news that Astro is looking to introduce a 4K UHD box with cloud-based recording soon.

While that is still at the beta stage currently, Astro is progressively rolling out updates to GO users, with the update switching up a few things, including navigation, a more intuitive search engine, as well as a refined home screen that helps you to “discover more”. Astro tell us this refresh also gives users access to over 50,000 On Demand titles, along with a host of livestream channels and programmes.

At the moment, I don’t seem to have received the update on the Astro GO app on my iPad (where I usually use the app), but Astro tells us that the update is being rolled out progressively, from July 8th onwards. That said, a quick look at some screenshots from the beta program that was mentioned earlier, and you get an idea of what the refreshed interface could look like:

You can download the Astro GO app on the App Store or the Google Play Store, or access the web interface here. Let us know what you think of the new interface in the comments section below!
