Razer Pay eWallet will soon be accepted at 54 million Visa merchant locations worldwide

Razer has announced a new partnership with Visa which will increase the reach of its payment platform across more merchants globally. The partnership will see Razer Fintech joining Visa’s fintech fast-track program which is designed to make it easier for fintechs to access Visa’s global payment network.

It was revealed that Razer Fintech and Visa will develop a Visa prepaid solution that will be embedded in the Razer Pay eWallet. As a result, up to 60 million Razer users are able to make payments wherever Visa is accepted at 54 million merchant locations worldwide.

Both Razer and Visa will roll out an exclusive Razer-branded Visa prepaid solution that will be integrated as a mini-app within Razer Pay. The new payment solution offers mobile top-ups, leading virtual credits and entertainment purchases for music and streaming services.

On top of that, users can enjoy benefits and rewards whenever they use their prepaid cards for ecommerce transactions and for purchases overseas. The integrated visa prepaid solution will also allow the same convenient top-up and cashout process that’s currently available on Razer Pay. In addition, Razer Pay has collaborated with several partners to boost its offering by introducing ride-hailing, movie ticketing and utility payments in streamlined mini-applications.

According to Razer, Southeast Asia has a large unbanked and underserved population of over 438 million and the partnership with Visa has the potential to extend micro-financial services to this underserved segment. The new solution from Razer Fintech and Visa will be rolled out progressively in selected countries across Southeast Asia in the coming months before it expands globally.
