U Mobile is launching its standalone eWallet very soon and they will be showcasing its services at the Malaysia Tech Week on the 18th June 2019. The telco’s standalone eWallet solution is called GoPayz and it appears that the merchant solution will be known as GoBiz.
U Mobile has invited the media for a preview on the 17th June 2019 and GoPayz will be showcased on the following day at the Malaysian Tech Week. According to the invite, U Mobile will introduce new digital services that will complete all of your financial and lifestyle needs.
Similar to Axiata’s Boost, it is highly likely that U Mobile will release GoPayz as a standalone digital payment app. From what we know so far, U Mobile is working towards having cross-platform compatibility with Razer Pay. This means you can use GoPayz at over 10,000 supported Razer Pay outlets across Malaysia which include 7-Eleven, 99 Speedmart, Starbucks and Tealive.
Apart from making retail transactions, U Mobile will also allow users to invest in FSMOne’s unit trust offerings via GoPayz. The unit trust investment option is said to be available from the third quarter of 2019. We will find out more next week so stay tuned.
