It’s almost a year since HTC introduced a flagship smartphone and the Taiwanese smartphone maker also appears to be sluggish when it comes to major software updates. If you’re using a HTC U11, U11+ and U12+, here are some good news. HTC is still working on pushing its Android 9 Pie update and you can get it on your device very soon.
According to their latest tweet, HTC will be pushing Android 9 to the HTC U11 starting late May 2019. Meanwhile, the HTC U11+ and U12+ will be getting the software update in June 2019. If you’re using an older device like the HTC U Ultra, it looks like you’re out of luck.
HTC has been very quiet lately and the last device to launch locally is the HTC U12 Life. The RM1,399 device comes with a 6.0″ Full HD+ display, a Snapdragon 636 processor with 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage. If you’re looking for an affordable deal, the flagship HTC U12+ is now going for as low as RM1,849.
The HTC U12+ offers a 6.0″ Quad HD+ display, a Snapdragon 845 processor with 6GB RAM and 128GB of storage. It comes with a 12MP + 16MP dual-camera at the rear and a dual 8MP setup in front for selfies. The device is powered by a 3,500mAh battery and it also comes with IP68 dust and water resistance.
