Xiaomi Mi 9 SE unboxing

The Xiaomi Mi 9 is probably the most affordable flagship smartphone that you can get in the market today. It has a top of the line Snapdragon 855 processor and it is priced below RM2,000.

But if that’s out of your budget, Xiaomi has also introduced a toned down version of the Xiaomi Mi 9 and it is called the Xiaomi Mi 9 SE and we have a unit right here with us, so let’s see what’s in the box.

So before we check out what’s in the box, I would like to clarify that the unit we have here is an import set courtesy of Mobile2Go.

Once you’ve opened the box, the first thing that you will be greeted with is a much smaller box. And inside the box, you will find yourself a black jelly case, a sim ejector tool, a USB-C to 3.5mm headphone dongle as well as some paper works.

Underneath the smaller box is the Mi 9 SE itself, a charging brick as well as a USB-C cable.

The first thing you will notice on the Mi 9 SE itself is definitely its back. Just like the more expensive flagship Mi 9, the Mi 9 SE also features a glass back. The one we have here comes in blue and despite being a more affordable variant, this device actually looks pretty premium.

And you will also notice there’s a triple camera setup and the main camera is surrounded with circular ring, which looks really good. And you will also notice that there’s no fingerprint scanner, this is because it uses an in-display fingerprint scanner.

The Xiaomi Mi 9 SE features a 5.97″ Full HD+ display, Snapdragon 712 processor that’s mated to 6GB of RAM and 64GB of non-expandable storage.

In terms of cameras, this device features a 48MP Sony IMX 586 main camera, a 13MP ultra-wide angle lens as well as an 8MP telephoto lens. For selfies, it also gets a 20MP shooter.

Keeping the light on is a 3,070mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging. However, it does not support wireless charging and 27W fast charging like the Mi 9.

Now for its price. So since this device is not officially available in Malaysia yet, but if you are interested, you could get one yourself from Mobile2Go and it is priced at RM1,388.
