Samsung had recently introduced the Galaxy A70 and Galaxy A80, which are their new mid-range smartphones that offer a large 6.7″ Super AMOLED display. The Galaxy A family has just gotten even larger as they have introduced a smaller Galaxy A60 model in China.
If you look at the spec-sheet, the Galaxy A60 appears to be a baby Galaxy A70. Upfront, it gets a smaller 6.3 Full HD+ display that has a punch-hole on the top left corner. This is the first device in the new 2019 Galaxy A series to feature an Infinity-O display.
Under the hood, it runs on Snapdragon 675 processor and it is mated to 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage. For taking selfies, the punch-hole gets a 32MP front camera while the rear, it gets a triple-camera setup with a rather different bump design.
In terms of sensors, it is identical to the Galaxy A70 as it gets a 32MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide angle camera and a 5MP shooter for depth sensing. Instead of an in-display fingerprint sensor, the Galaxy A60 uses a normal rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.
Powering the device is still a huge 4,500mAh battery and it also supports 25W super fast charging via USB-C. In China, the Galaxy A60 is priced at 1,999CNY which is about RM1,237 if converted directly. That’s quite a bargain considering it has a powerful Snapdragon 675 processor, a large 4,500mAh battery and it also packs a powerful fast charger.
Apart from that, Samsung has also announced a cheaper Galaxy A40s as well. This appears to be an identical device to the Galaxy M30. The device features a slightly larger 6.4″ Full HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity-U display and it runs on an Exynos 7904 processor.
For China, the A40s packs 6GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The notch comes with a 16MP selfie camera, while the rear gets a triple-camera array consisting of a 13MP main + 5MP ultra-wide-angle + 5MP depth camera.
Similar to the Galaxy M20, it comes with a massive 5,000mAh battery that supports 15W fast charging via USB-C. The Galaxy A40s is priced at 1,499CNY (about RM928). Interestingly, both the Galaxy A40s and A60 are equipped with NFC in China.
So far there’s no info about its availability in other markets. For Malaysia, the Galaxy A70 and A80 series will be coming as early as next month.
