Barely a month after Huawei had unveiled its latest P30 flagship series, Honor has just announced its upcoming Honor 20 launch event that’s taking place in London next month. This is Honor’s latest flagship smartphone and it is expected to offer similar hardware as the Huawei P30 but at a lower price tag.
In the official invite, Honor has kept the launch date a mystery by providing an equation 444+4x4x4+(4+4)/4+44/4. If you solve it correctly, you’ll get 521 which seems to indicate 21st May 2019 as the official date.
The teaser seems to hint a lot of fours, which could possibly mean that the upcoming Honor flagship might come with a quad-camera setup. This might consist of a main camera, an ultra-wide-angle lens, a telephoto shooter and a ToF camera. That’s just our guess for now.
For the upcoming device, the Honor 20 is expected to run on a top of the line Kirin 980 processor and it isn’t clear if it will also feature a punch-hole display like the current Honor View 20 smartphone. Last year’s Honor 10 had shared a lot of similar hardware with the Huawei P20 and the device was officially launched at RM1,599 with 4GB RAM and 128GB of storage. Since Malaysia is a key market, we expect local sales for the Honor 20 to start very soon. The device is highly likely to be priced under RM2,000 for the base model.
