Ahead of the 5G Malaysia showcase at Putrajaya next week, Digi has provided a glimpse of what 5G could deliver. During their onsite speed test, the test 5G network was capable of delivering transmission speeds of up to 1.6Gbps using a 100MHz spectrum on 5G.
According to Digi, 5G offers super high-speeds, low latency and networking slicing, which has the potential to connect millions of devices, build new services and support broader adoption of applications that can impact the way businesses and government operates, as well as consumers’ daily lives. Digi will be presenting three 5G use cases in the area of Emergency Services, Learning and eSports. This will provide the public a glimpse of 5G’s potential impact to public infrastructure, businesses and consumers at large.
Telenor Research’s Head, Bjørn Taale Sandberg, will be present at the showcase and he will be sharing global insights on how 5G will enable AI and IoT, and the exploration of these technologies have a vast potential to change our lives beyond Industry 4.0. He will be also sharing insights from their 5G pilot projects conducted in Norway back in November 2018.
The Malaysia 5G showcase is hosted by the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission. The showcase which is happening at Putrajaya will be open to the public on 20th and 21th April 2019.
