Sony RX0 II Malaysian pricing revealed

Sony RX0 II is a compact action camera and it’s scheduled to arrive in Malaysia next month. Now, Sony Malaysia has revealed its official pricing and the RX0 II will be retailing for RM2,799.

If this is the first time you’re heard of this device, here’s a rundown of what you can expect from this GoPro contender from Sony.

The Sony RX0 II is the world’s smallest and lightest premium compact camera you can find in the market. Measuring at 59mm x 40.5mm x 35mm and weighing 132 grams, this device is small yet sturdy. It is waterproof, dustproof, shockproof and crushproof up to 200 kg of force.

If you’re into 4K recording, you’ll be happy to know that the RX0 II gets internal 4K recording at 30fps and improved image stabilisation, something that its predecessor, the RX0 doesn’t offer. What’s more, the RX0 II’s 1.0-type stacked 15.3MP Exmor RS CMOS image sensor paired with Sony’s BIONZ X image processing engine promises great detail and quality. It also features the ZEISS Tessar T 24mm f/4.0 wide-angle lens.

For those who want to capture fast-moving objects, the RX0 II has an anti-distortion feature with shutter speeds up to 1/32,000 sec. It supports continuous shooting at 16fps and with up to 129 JPG images in a single burst. For slow-motion recording, it’s capable of recording in 1,000fps with uncompressed 4K HDMI output. Even in the dark, you can work with an ISO range of 80 to 12,800.

The specs may sound promising, but what makes this camera stand out? It is the tiltable LCD screen. You can the tilt the screen up to 180-degree upwards and up to 90-degree downwards, which makes it a flexible little device.

When the Sony RX0 II goes on sale in May 2019, there will be a Purchase with Purchase (PWP) promo. You can get the vlogging shooting grip for RM199 instead of its original price of RM399.
