The Malaysian Huawei P30 series launch event is happening next week on the 2nd of April 2019. These are Huawei’s latest flagship smartphones that promise to offer unrivalled photography experience, especially with its new periscope zoom lens.

The local pricing details have not been revealed yet and both models are definitely more affordable than its European pricing. The 6.1″ Huawei P30 is expected to be priced under RM3,000, while the higher spec 6.47″ P30 Pro that comes with a quad-camera setup could be going for at least RM3,500. More details including its freebie offers are expected to be revealed at the local launch event.

Based on Maxis’ teaser on Facebook, it appears that the first sale for the Huawei P30 series will be taking place on next Saturday, 6th April 2019. Huawei Malaysia has also announced that there will be 11 roadshow venues throughout the country and this will include Sabah and Sarawak.

To recap on the specs, the P30 Pro comes with a larger 6.47″ Full HD+ dual-curved OLED display and it runs on a Kirin 980 processor. The rear features a 40MP f/1.6 main camera, a 20MP f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle camera and an 8MP f/3.4 telephoto shooter that offers 5X Optical zoom and it is capable of pushing 10X lossless zoom.

The P30 Pro gets a large 4,200mAh battery and it also supports the latest 40W SuperCharge charging as well as reverse wireless charging. It lacks a 3.5mm headphone jack and stereo speakers. Similar to the Mate 20 Pro, the P30 Pro also gets IP68 dust and water resistance.

Meanwhile, the non-Pro P30 gets a smaller 6.1″ Full HD+ OLED display and it also retains the same Kirin 980 hardware underneath. For the camera, it gets a 40MP f/1.8 main camera, a 16MP /2.2 ultra-wide-angle shooter and an 8MP telephoto lens with 3X Optical zoom. Powering the P30 is a smaller 3,650mAh battery that charges with its previous-gen 22.5W fast charging. The P30 settles for a lower IP53 splash resistance rating and there’s no wireless charging. However, it does come with a 3.5mm headphone jack.
