Celcom provides wireless connectivity at Pasir Gudang chemical disaster relief centres

Celcom is doing its part to help out in the relief efforts of the recent Pasir Gudang chemical incident. The telco is providing free WiFi connectivity with its Celcom Home Wireless broadband solution at two disaster relief operation centres at Hospital Sultanah Aminah Johor Bahru and Hospital Sultan Ismail Johor Bahru.

Apart from providing connectivity to working personnel at the relief centres, Celcom has also distributed power banks to the affected families at Hospital Sultanah Aminah, Hospital Sultan Ismail and Pasir Gudang Indoor Stadium.

According to Celcom CEO, Idham Nawawi, the welfare of the people has always been close to the organisation’s heart and they are willing to provide any assistance in the times of need. He added that their network and technical teams are working around the clock to ensure connectivity. They want to assure that those affected are able to remain connected with their friends and family.

To ensure safety and welfare of their own employees, Celcom’s Occupational Safety, Health and Environment team had successfully evacuated all Celcom employees and their families that reside within the affected areas to a safer zone.
