The Vivo V15 Pro is now available from Digi for as low as RM22/month when you subscribe to the Digi Postpaid 190 plan over a 24-month period.
The Digi Postpaid 190 plan is one of Digi’s highest commitment plans at RM190/month. The plan offers 200GB of monthly data quota, unlimited calls to all networks, no roaming fee and 5GB of roaming data + 60 minutes of roaming calls + 60 minutes of IDD calls when you roam.
If RM190/month is too much for you, the Vivo V15 Pro is also available with the following Digi plans (all includes a 24-month contract):
Contract plan also offers other benefits such as, zero upfront payment, zero interest and the option to purchase Digi Shield phone protection plan.
Just a word of caution here, while it says on the promo material that there’s a free upgrade (where you get to upgrade to a new phone as early as 18 months into the contract), the Vivo V15 Pro actually sits in tier 3 of Digi’s upgrade offerings. According to Digi’s FAQ, tier 3 devices are not eligible for a free upgrade, so take note.
The V15 Pro retails for RM1,799 outright and obviously the more you pay for the monthly plan the cheaper the phone is. On the top-tier Digi Plan 190 for example, you’re only paying RM528 for the phone over 24 months, that’s less than half the retail price but the trade-off here, of course, is the high RM190/month commitment on top of the RM22/month you have to pay for the phone.
But here’s the thing, specs-wise, the V15 Pro is a mid-tier phone. Typically, people who are in the market for a sub-RM2,000 are not going to spend RM190/month for a mobile plan. They are more likely to buy for the phone outright and pay less than a hundred Ringgit a month for a mobile plan. That is if they want to commit, most prefer the freedom of using a pre-paid plan instead.
You can say that its good for Digi to offer the option to get the Vivo V15 Pro on contract but we’re not sure what’s the point when the market would very likely just by the phone outright.
In terms of specs, the Vivo V15 Pro features a 6.39-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display and it is powered by Qualcomm’s new mid-range Snapdragon 675 processor. The device has 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage that’s expandable via microSD.
In terms of cameras, the V15 Pro gets a 32MP pop-up selfie camera and a triple-camera setup — 48MP f/1.8 main camera, an 8MP f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle camera and a 5MP f/2.4 shooter for depth of field effects — with AI.
In terms of battery, the V15 Pro gets a 3,700mAh unit which supports Vivo’s dual-engine fast charging but it microUSB. Out of the box, it runs on Android 9.0 Pie with FunTouch OS skin on top.
