You can now get the Xiaomi Mi 9 in Malaysia

The Xiaomi has recently launched the Mi 9 for international markets, however, it is only available officially in China and Europe at the moment. If you want to get your hands on this latest triple-camera flagship smartphone, here’s how you can get a unit in Malaysia.

Retailer Mobile 2 Go is now offering import sets for the Mi 9. The base 6GB RAM + 128GB storage model is going for RM2,398, while the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage option is priced at RM2,548. Do note that these are not official Mi Malaysia sets and it is covered with Mobile 2 Go’s 1-year in-house warranty.

To recap, the Mi 9 comes with a 6.39″ Super AMOLED Full HD+ display and it runs on a Snapdragon 855 processor. For imaging, it gets a 48MP main camera, a 16MP ultra-wide-angle shooter and a 12MP telephoto camera with 2X optical zoom. According to DxOMark, the Mi 9 scored 107 points, which is the 2nd highest score at the moment for smartphones .

Powering the Mi 9 is a 3,300mAh battery and it supports 20W fast wireless charging. To learn more about the device, you can check out our first impressions here.

If you’re not in a hurry, official Xiaomi Mi 9 units for Malaysia are expected to arrive very soon. The device has already passed SIRIM’s certification together with the Redmi Note 7. The Redmi Note 7 is expected to go on sale on 19th March 2019, so there’s a chance that the Mi 9 might make its official appearance soon.

In China, the base Mi 9 with 6GB RAM + 128GB storage is priced at 2,999CNY (about RM1,823) while the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage model is priced at 3,299CNY (about RM2,005). There’s also a transparent edition that comes with 12GB RAM + 256GB storage which is priced at 3,999CNY (about RM2,430).
