The Honor 8X is Honor Malaysia’s best sub-RM1,000 smartphone that comes with a large screen and a generous 128GB of internal storage. At the moment, you can get it in Black, Blue and Red, but it seems like a new gradient colour option will be available very soon.

Honor Malaysia has posted a teaser on their Facebook page hinting that a new device is coming soon with the slogan “Going Beyond Limits”. This is the same tag line for the current Honor 8X and you can see a notched display in the outline as shown above. This couldn’t be the larger Honor 8X Max as the larger device has a tiny notch.

Looking at the colour of the outline, we believe that this is an Honor 8X with a blue and purple gradient effect. It matches the Phantom Blue colour option which is currently not available in Malaysia.

In terms of specs, we expect the Honor 8X Phantom Blue to feature the same 6.5″ Full HD+ display and it runs on a Kirin 710 processor with 4GB of RAM plus 128GB of storage.

For taking pictures, the Honor 8X features a 20MP + 2MP rear-camera setup and it has a 16MP selfie camera. Powering the device is a 3,750mAh battery which charges via micro-USB. To learn more, you can check out first impressions of the Honor 8X here. The Honor 8X is currently priced at RM949.
