In the pursuit of ultra-thin bezels to accommodate larger and larger displays, device manufactures have to look at different ways to mount the all-important front camera. Vivo has come up with a couple of interesting way to solve this problem with the NEX dual-display and the original Vivo NEX that features a motorised pop-up selfie camera.
It looks like Vivo is planning to make the motorised pop-up selfie camera a mainstream feature in its device line up with the introduction of the V15 and V15 Pro.
Vivo dropped a hint on its official Facebook page that suggests it will be launching the Vivo V15 and V15 Pro in Malaysia soon, however, the brand didn’t exactly say when.
The Vivo V15 and V15 Pro both will feature a pop-up selfie camera like the one seen on the Vivo NEX. In the Vivo NEX the pop-up camera is only an 8MP unit, in the V15 and V15 Pro, the pop-up mechanism will house a 32MP camera instead. While megapixel count does not automatically mean better pictures, the selfie camera on the V15 and V15 Pro should be an improvement over the one on the NEX
Aside from that, not much was revealed in the Facebook post about the Vivo V15 and V15 Pro but there are already a few leaked information available online.
From benchmak on Geekbench, We know that the V15 and V15 Pro will very likely feature the mid-range Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 processor mated to possibly 6GB of RAM. You can also expect the two devices to have 128GB of on-board storage and feature a Super AMOLED display with an in-display fingerprint scanner similar to its predecessor, the Vivo V11.
On top of that, the Vivo V15 and V15 Pro are also expected to feature a triple camera setup with a 48MP, an 8MP and a 5MP camera.
In India, the Vivo V15 and V15 Pro will go on sale from 20 February 2019. You can expect the two devices to be available in Malaysia around the same time. The V15 Pro is rumoured to be priced at rs25,000 or about RM1,422. The Malaysia price should be close to that as well.
