Rapid MRT feeder buses will go fully cashless from 1 February onwards

Rapid MRT feeder buses will go fully cashless from this Friday (1 February 2019). Rapid says this will make travelling on its MRT feeder busses more conveninent and smoother for passengers.

From 1 February onwards, commuters will have to pay for thier bus rides using Touch ‘n Go cards including the My100 and My50 unlimited-ride passes. For standard Touch n’ Go cards customers are to be reminded to maintain a RM3.00 minimum balance to ride the feeder bus.

To facilitate the transition to a full cashless system, there is a one-month grace period is for currect concession card holders including students, senior citizens and disabled (OKU) to move from their current concession card to the cashless concession card.

Rapid says the grace period provides ample time for these passengers to apply for their concession card through myrapid.com.my or at Pasar Seni Concession Counter and Pasar Seni Bus Hub.

This group of customers are still permitted to pay by cash up until 28 February 2019.

The cashless payment system will cover all 57 feeder bus routes from Sungai Buloh to Kajang MRT depot.

Rapid’s MRT feeder busses carry over 60,000 passengers daily. The company expects 51% of its customers to go cashless without much hassle.

This projection is based on the current number of customers who are already using the cashless mode of payment on MRT feeder buses. On average, about 49% of Rapid’s customers are already using cashless payment.
