The Galaxy S10 range will make its debut this February but even before its big day, a lot has already been revealed about the device. We know how it looks like, we know the general specs and we also know some of the features that the Galaxy S10 series will have.
Now thanks to information from Italian tech site Tutto Android, we know the prices of the entire Galaxy S10 range along with other go to market plans – for Italy at least.
The Galaxy S10 will be available in at least three variants, the 5.8-inch Galaxy S10 Lite (which will be the entry version of the range), the 6.1-inch Galaxy S10 and the top of the range 6.4-inch Galaxy S10+.
The Galaxy S10 Lite is expected to feature a flat display while the Galaxy S10 and S10+ may feature curved displays similar to the Galaxy Note9.
The Lite model will also be the only model in the range that’s likely to feature a side-mounted fingerprint scanner instead of an in-display fingerprint sensor that’s a standard feature on the standard Galaxy S10 and S10+.
Despite being a “Lite” device, this model is expected to run on the same Snapdragon 855 or Exynos 9820 processor as the S10 and S10+.
The Lite and standard versions of the Galaxy S10 will both have single lens selfie cameras while the Galaxy S10+ is expected to feature a dual-lens selfie shooter.
All three variants will be available in black, white, and green. There is a special yellow colour for the Galaxy S10 Lite while the Galaxy S10+ gets two unique colour options. The report, however, did not say what these colour will be.
Interestingly, while some sources say that the high-end Galaxy S10+ may feature a ceramic body, the Italian site indicates that this may not be the case. I guess we’ll have to wait till the Galaxy S10 launch day to be sure.
It looks like Samsung has also updated the storage offering for the Galaxy S10. There won’t be a 64GB base version as well, instead the devices start with 1268GB of internal storage while the 256GB mid-tier storage option will also most likely be replaced with a 512GB option.
The highest end of the range will be the Galaxy S10+ with a whopping 1TB of on-board storage and a massive 12GB of RAM. If this is indeed the case, this will be the first time ever a smartphone is shipped with 1TB of internal storage and 12GB of RAM. 12 GIGABYTES! That’s three times more RAM than on the iPhone XS Max!
Tutto Android says that the Galaxy S10 will be available in stores in Italy from 8 March, a little over two weeks after the launch event that’s scheduled to happen on 20 February in San Francisco. This gives a good indication of when the Galaxy 10 will arrive in Malaysia.
Typically, Malaysia is the first wave of countries to receive a new Samsung device so you can expect to be able to pre-order the Galaxy S10 right after the global launch and be able to purchase the device early March.
In terms of prices, here are the indicative prices for Italy
• Galaxy S10 Lite 6GB RAM / 128GB storage: €779 (approximately RM3,660)
• Galaxy S10 6GB RAM / 128GB storage: €929 (approx. RM4,360)
• Galaxy S10 8GB RAM / 512GB storage: €1,179 (approx. RM5,530)
• Galaxy S10+ 6GB RAM / 128GB storage: €1,049 (approx. RM4,920)
• Galaxy S10+ 8GB RAM / 512GB storage: €1,299 (approx. RM6,100)
• Galaxy S10+ 12GB RAM / 1TB storage: €1,600 (approx. RM7,510)
Of course, these are expected prices for the European market when phones and electronics are considerably more expensive. You can expect the Galaxy S10 range to be cheaper in Malaysia, at least by RM500 in some variants.
