Sony Xperia XZ4 design revealed in leaked case renders

With MWC 2019 happening very soon, Sony will be unveiling its latest flagship, the Xperia XZ4. Ahead of the big event, we get to see clear renders of the device thanks to case maker Olixar.

The cases for the Xperia XZ4 was spotted on Mobile Fun and it gives us a better look of the device especially the camera and button placements. It matches the 360-degree renders that were provided by @Onleaks and we could see a triple camera setup that’s aligned vertically in the middle.

If you look on the right side, you’ll notice a huge cutout which is likely to be its side-mounted fingerprint sensor. Placed close to it is a volume rocker button and there’s also an extra button. It isn’t clear if this is a power button since it makes more sense for Sony to integrate it with the fingerprint sensor like its previous flagships.

Also retained is a dedicated camera button which makes it easier to launch the camera with a single push. You can also see a single cut out at the bottom for the USB-C port and the XZ4 is expected to come without a headphone jack like the recent XZ2 and XZ3 smartphones.

Like any Sony product, the Xperia XZ4 is expected to retain a IP68 dust and water resistance. The Xperia XZ4 is expected to be Sony’s first flagship smartphone to come with a triple-camera setup and this comes right after the XZ2 Premium which came with a dual-camera configuration. For the display, the device will get a taller 21:9 aspect ratio and the screen is said to be 6.5″ in size.

Several weeks ago, an alleged benchmark result for the Xperia XZ4 had surfaced online which claims to offer blazing performance compared to other Snapdragon 855 devices. If this is true, it could be the best performing Android smartphone on Antutu with a score of over 390,000.

The Xperia XZ4 is expected to be revealed at MWC 2019 in Barcelona. Sony Mobile has confirmed its press event on 25th February 2019 and we expect them to also reveal their mid-range XA3 series at the same venue.

Unfortunately, these new devices might not come to Malaysia officially. As mentioned earlier, it appears that Sony Mobile has exited the South East Asian market.
