Huawei Malaysia is kicking off 2019 with a brand new Nova 4. This is Huawei’s latest selfie-centric smartphone which now comes with a punch-hole display and a triple-camera setup for the rear.
The Huawei Nova 4 is officially priced at RM1,899 and it comes in Crush Blue and Black. The selfie-centric device will be available at all Huawei Experience stores and authorised resellers nationwide starting 14th February 2019. It will also be available on contract via Digi and Maxis.
To recap on the specs, the Huawei Nova 4 comes with a 6.4″ “Punch FullView display” that pushes a Full HD+ resolution. Instead of having a notch, the display also houses a 25MP selfie camera that’s placed on the top left corner. Huawei claims this is the smallest selfie camera with a diameter of only 3.05mm.
Under the hood, it runs on a Kirin 970 processor, which is the same unit that’s powering last year’s Nova 3. It also gets 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.
In the photography department, the rear gets a triple camera setup which consists of a 20MP f/1.8 main camera, a 16MP f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle shooter and a 2MP f/2.4 camera for depth of field effects.
In China, there’s also a better version that comes with a 48MP main camera but this isn’t available for our local market. As usual, you get heaps of AI-assisted photography features and it has electronic image stabilisation for videos.
Powering the Nova 4 is a 3,750mAh battery that charges via USB-C. Also included is an 18W (9V2A) fast charger. The device still retains a 3.5mm headphone jack and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. Out of the box, it runs on Android 9.0 with EMUI 9.0.1 skin on top.
