This is how the upcoming Huawei P30 might look like

March 2019 will mark a full year since Huawei announced the P20 series. While the P20 Pro remains one of my favourite phones because of its phenomenal camera, great battery life and snappy performance, the industry standard 12-month product cycle dictates that a product refresh is coming and when a product refresh is coming, you can expect there will be leaks. Thanks to reliable leakster, OnLeaks, what we have here reveal clues about the Huawei P30.

We’ve seen a number of leaks about the P30 Pro before with its quadruple rear camera array and possible punch-hole display at the front. The P30 will, expectedly, be a cheaper variant within the P30 series line up.

This means the P30 may feature three rear cameras instead of four expected on the P30 Pro. Also different from the P30 Pro is the display. Where leaks reveal the P30 Pro to have a punch-hole display, the P30 may feature a more conventional notched display instead.

Speaking of the display, expect the P30 to feature a 6-inch display (up from the 5.8-inch full HD display on the P20) and judging by the lack of a physical from the images you see here, the P30 (and the P30 Pro) might have an in-display fingerprint. The images also reveal a USB-C port and I’m sure many will be happy with this, a headphone jack.

Seeing that the P30 and P30 Pro will be Huawei’s first wave of releases for 2019, you can expect that Huawei will pack the duo with the latest and greatest. This includes Huawei’s latest Kirin 980 processor with possibly 128GB and 256GB storage options with 6GB or 8GB RAM as well as a brand new 38MP camera sensor from Sony.

Huawei has not mentioned anything about the P30 and P30 Pro but it’s clear that an announcement is coming, the question is when. Well, it could be as early as February at Mobile World Congress (MWC) but seeing that Huawei prefers to have their own events away from the noise of other brands, I’m thinking they might debut the P30 and P30 Pro after the MWC buzz dies down.
