Neuron electric scooter sharing service is now available in Cyberjaya

Neuron, the Singapore-based electric scooter sharing service is now available at several locations in Cyberjaya as part of the Cyberview Living Lab Pilot Program in an effort to develop Cyberjaya as Malaysia’s most prominent smart city and solving last mile connectivity.

Cyberjaya was chosen due to its well-built infrastructure, a high number of young population and early tech adopters.

Earlier this month, Neuron successfully raised SG$5 million in funding to grow the service throughout South East Asia including Malaysia.

For a start, the service will be focused in high density and concentrated areas in Cyberjaya such as Cyberview, Centrus Mall, DPulze shopping Mall, Tune Hotel DPulze, Cybersquare, Shaftsbury Square and the SME Technopreneur Centre to name a few.

To start a ride, you will be required to pay RM3 unlocking fee after that it’s a standard fee of RM0.30/min until you return the scooter. You can also opt for daily, weekly or monthly passes starting from RM38.

Neuron advises that the must only be used on footpaths and bicycle lanes. Failure to do so will result in a hefty fine.

The Neuron scooters employ real-time tracking and geo-fencing to ensure users stay within the designated areas. The designated areas depend on where you pick-up your scooters. Operation hours are limited to day time as to avoid the risk of the scooters from being used or parked outside of designated areas.

Unlike the infamous bicycle sharing service Obike, Neuron scooters must be returned to their designated parking spots at the end of the trip.

To try out the service, all you need to do is download the Neuron app from Google Play here or Apple App Store here.
