Vivo Y95: A sub-RM1,000 Fullview smartphone with a 20MP AI selfie camera

Just a few days before Christmas, Vivo Malaysia has just announced its new Y95 selfie-centric smartphone that comes with a 20MP AI-assisted selfie camera. This appears to be an improved version of the Y91i which was announced less than two weeks ago.

The device is officially priced at RM999 and you can get it exclusively through Lazada Malaysia. As a pre-order promo, you can get the Vivo V95 for only RM899 by applying the VIVO95 promo code to get RM100 off. It’s available in Aurora Red and Starry Black.

The Vivo Y95 shares a lot of similarities to the Y91i. It also features a 6.22″ FullView display with a tiny notch and it pushes the same HD+ resolution of 1520×720. It also runs on a 12nm Snapdragon 439 octa-core processor and the Y95 packs 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. That’s double the RAM and quadruple the storage of the Y91i.

The back features a dual-camera setup that consists of a 13MP main camera and a secondary 2MP shooter for bokeh effects. It also gets a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and juicing up the device is a large 4,030mAh battery. Out of the box, it runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with Vivo’s FunTouch OS 4.5 skin on top.
