You can get the Black Shark Helo gaming smartphone with 10GB RAM for under RM3,000

If you can’t wait for the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition, here’s another 10GB RAM smartphone that you can get in Malaysia. The high-spec Black Shark Helo with 10GB RAM and 256GB of storage is now on sale in Malaysia.

The Black Shark comes in several variants and initially, a couple of retailers are offering imported sets with 6GB or 8GB of RAM. DirectD has managed to import the 10GB RAM version and they are selling it for RM2,899. This also comes with the left and right gamepad controllers along with a case and tempered glass.

Since this is an import unit, it is covered with their own 1-year in-house warranty. Out of the box, it runs on China ROM but it has Google PlayStore installed. If you’re looking for an affordable option, the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage model is going for RM1,899 while the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage version is going for RM2,099.

To recap on the specs, the Black Shark Helo is the sequel of the original Black Shark gaming smartphone. It has a 6.01″ Full HD+ AMOLED display and it runs on a Snapdragon 845 processor that’s cooled with dual cooling pipes.

The Black Shark Halo has a 12MP + 20MP dual-camera setup at the rear and a front facing 20MP selfie camera. Powering the device is a 4,000mAh battery that supports Quick Charge 3.0 via USB-C. There’s no headphone jack but it does come with a pair of stereo speakers.
