Huawei Malaysia is releasing a huge 7.12″ smartphone on 12.12

UPDATE: The new large screen device is the Huawei Y Max. It will be available for pre-order in Malaysia starting 10th December 2018.

Huawei has a huge surprise that will be unveiled on the 12th of December. After announcing the Mate 20 X, the Chinese smartphone maker is releasing another huge smartphone that comes with a 7.12″ display.

The teaser states that this new device will offer MAXimum entertainment pleasure with its 7.12″ FullView display. If you look at the top, the device comes with a tiny notch which houses the front camera.

Apart from the Huawei Mate 20 and Mate 20 X, the only device remaining which carries a tiny-notched display is the Huawei Enjoy Max. It’s currently sold in China and this is basically Huawei’s version of the Honor 8X Max.

The Huawei Enjoy Max features a 7.12″ Full HD+ display that pushes a resolution of 2244×1080 pixels. Under the hood, it runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor that comes with 4GB of RAM and a choice of either 64GB or 128GB of storage. It also supports further storage expansion via microSD card.

For taking pictures, the Enjoy Max comes with a 16MP f/2.0 main shooter and a secondary 2MP f/2.4 camera for depth of field effects. As usual, it comes with a host of AI camera features. In front, it comes with a single 8MP f/2.0 selfie camera.

As expected for a device this big, the Enjoy Max comes with a huge 5,000mAh battery and out of the box, it runs on Android 8.1 with EMUI 8.2 skin on top. What’s interesting is the back design where it comes with what appears to be a faux leather cover. This is somewhat similar to the Samsung Galaxy Note 3.

There are no local pricing details yet and we expect Huawei Malaysia to drop more info in the next couple of days before the upcoming 12.12 sales event. In China, the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage model is priced at 1,699CNY (about RM1,027) while the 4GB RAM + 128GB storage option is going for 1,999CNY (about RM1,208). U
