The Huawei Mate 20 Pro has one of the best displays in the business. It uses a 6.39″ dual-curved Quad HD+ OLED panel that pushes a high pixel density of 538 pixels per inch (ppi).
Recently some Mate 20 Pro users have reported issues with their display. Some units are having a strange green bleeding around the edges and this appears to affect a small number of users in Malaysia.
We’ve reached out to Huawei Malaysia and they have assured us that they are taking the display issue seriously. A representative had informed us that they are already in touch with affected Mate 20 Pro users in Malaysia.
It isn’t clear what’s the cause of the problem but it was speculated that the green screen issue is isolated to a batch of OLEDs from LG. We have two Mate 20 Pro in the office and both are using BOE OLED panels. So far we have no issues with the display after almost three weeks of use.
If you’re having the display issue, Huawei urges you to send in your device at your nearest Huawei Service Centre. Affected units will undergo the usual warranty SOP to determine if it requires a fix or a replacement.
