You can buy Xiaomi’s Black Shark Helo in Malaysia at RM2,399

Xiaomi has recently updated its gaming-centric smartphone with a new Black Shark Helo. It gets a better display, improved thermal management and it comes with up to 10GB of RAM.

If the ROG Phone is too expensive for you, the Xiaomi Black Shark Helo might just be your cup of tea and it’s now on sale in Malaysia.

The Black Shark Helo isn’t officially sold outside of China but you can get an imported unit in Malaysia from Mobile2Go. The device they are offering is the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage option and it’s going for RM2,399. It even comes with the original Black Shark gaming controller in the box.

To recap on the specs, the Black Shark Helo comes with a slightly bigger 6.01″ AMOLED display that pushes a Full HD+ resolution of 2160×1080. Similar to the previous version, it also comes with front-facing stereo speakers and the device features RGB lighting for the rear logo and the sides.

Under the hood, it runs on a Snapdragon 845 processor with either 6GB, 8GB and 10GB of LP-DDR4X RAM. The base models come with 128GB of storage while the top of the line 10GB variant gets 256GB of storage. To keep things cool during intensive gaming, the Black Shark Helo has two liquid cooling pipes for a larger cooling area.

For taking pictures, the Black Shark Helo has a 12MP + 20MP dual-camera setup at the rear with f/1.75 aperture. Over at the front, it gets a 20MP f/2.2 selfie camera that has a 4-in-1 pixel binning feature.

Powering the device is a large 4,000mAh battery which supports QuickCharge 3.0 charging via USB-C. Unfortunately, it still doesn’t come with a 3.5mm headphone jack.
