The Nokia 5.1 Plus goes on sale in Malaysia for RM899

Two months ago, HMD Global had announced two new mid-range smartphones in Malaysia. The Nokia 6.1 Plus was released first with the retail price tag of RM1,149. If you’re looking for a more affordable alternative, the Nokia 5.1 Plus is finally going on sale this week.

The Nokia 5.1 Plus features a 5.8″ display which is quite similar to the Nokia 6.1 Plus, however, it pushes a lower HD+ resolution of 1520×720 in a 19:9 aspect ratio. Instead of a Snapdragon processor, it runs on a MediaTek Helio P60 unit with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. Storage is also expandable via microSD card up to 400GB.

In the imaging department, the Nokia 5.1 Plus features a 13MP + 5MP dual camera setup with AI features. Powering the device is a 3,060mAh battery which charges via USB-C and it runs on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box. The device comes in Gloss Black and Gloss Midnight Blue.

The Nokia 5.1 Plus will be available starting tomorrow, 6 November at RM899. If you’re interested, you can find it at all authorised Nokia resellers and on their official online store on Lazada. As an added bonus, Nokia is also providing an exclusive bundle package worth RM200 which includes a backpack, a tempered glass screen protector and protective cover case.

If you prefer to get it at a cheaper price, the Nokia 5.1 Plus can be yours at only RM809 for a limited time on Lazada.
