To improve Malaysia’s digital economy, the government had allocated RM1 billion for the National Fiberisation and Connectivity Plan under Budget 2019. This will be utilised to further develop fibre optic infrastructure and to ensure effective distribution of spectrum throughout Malaysia.

To ensure all Malaysians enjoy world-class broadband access at a reasonable price, the government aims to boost broadband speeds in rural areas to 30Mbps within 5 years. They have also iterated that the Mandatory Standard on Access Pricing (MSAP) has been enforced and this will bring down the cost of broadband by 25% by end of this year.

TM, Maxis, Celcom and TIME have recently announced their fibre broadband price reduction and you can get a 100Mbps plan from as low as RM99/month.

Kerajaan juga akan menguatkuasakan Standard Mandatori Mengenai Harga Capaian (MSAP) yang dijangka akan menurunkan harga jalur lebar talian tetap sekurangnya 25% pada hujung tahun 2018.
