The current crop of Motorola smartphones are running on stock Android and it seems that they are about to release their first Android One devices at IFA 2018. This is expected to be the global version of the Motorola P30 smartphone that was released in China. That device featured an iPhone X inspired design with a Huawei P20 Pro Twilight colour scheme.
According to Roland Quandt, the new device is called the Moto One which is powered by Android One. While the experience is not much different from its current stock Android devices, it offers an assurance that it will receive at least 2 years of software updates.
Similar to the P30, the Moto One gets a notched display while the rear gets a redesigned camera bump. The position of the dual camera setup and the LED flash are similar to the Chinese variant but it appears flush with its glass back. The smartphone pictured here appears to have a subtle gradient effect which transitions between black and purple.
In terms of specs, it is likely that the Moto One will retain the same specs with a 6.2″ Full HD+ display and a mid-range Snapdragon 636 processor. The P30 gets a 16MP f/1.8 + 5MP f/2.2 dual-camera setup at the rear along with a 12MP selfie shooter. It is juiced up by a 3,000mAh battery which supports 18W fast charging via USB-C.
Apart from this, there could be a another version which could be called the Moto One Power. We should be seeing more details of the device in the next few days.
