Maxis wants you to support our endangered Malaysians this Merdeka

There are a number of “Malaysians” that are at risk. Over the years, the population of our very own orangutans, tapirs and tigers are shrinking tremendously thanks to the action of human beings.

In conjunction with this year’s Merdeka, Maxis has collaborated with the Department of Wildlife and National Parks (PERHILITAN) to launch the “Endangered Malaysians” campaign. This project aims to support the conservation of endangered animals that are at risk in Malaysia.

As part of this month-long-initiative, Maxis has partnered with Huawei and local photographers to celebrate these animals through photography.

The photos can found on both Maxis’ official website and Facebook page as part of the #KitaRakyatMalaysia pledge to increase awareness of the preservation for these endangered animals. Here is how you participate in the pledge:

1) Enter Maxis’ website here.

2) Click on the “Make A Pledge” icon on the website Wait for the pop-up to appear.

3) There will be a list of endangered animals to choose from. Choose which animal you would like to share and pledge on your Facebook profile.

4)For each pledge made, Maxis will donate RM1 to PERLIHITAN to aid its conservation efforts.

Taking this project further, Maxis will also create awareness on animal conservation amongst the younger generations through its eKelas programme. In case you didn’t know, eKelas is Maxis’ flagship social responsibility program that aims to help students from rural areas to improve their academic performances via Pusat Internet 1Malaysia (PI1M).

Starting from today, those who are interested in the “Endangered Malaysian” project can join the event at IPC Shopping Center from 10am to 10pm daily. The event is running from the 24th of August 2018 to the 2nd of September 2018.

For more information, you can visit Maxis’ official Facebook page.
