The Xiaomi Mi A2 with 128GB storage is priced under RM1,200 in Malaysia

The Xiaomi Mi A2 will be coming to Malaysia very soon. If you’re wondering how much it will cost when it arrives, we now have a glimpse of the Malaysian pricing on its official online store.

According to a listing on the Mi Store at Lazada, the Mi A2 with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage is officially priced at RM1,199. All 3 colours are listed – blue, black and gold.

Xiaomi will be arranging a local media briefing at the end of the month and with this product listing, it’s a sign that Malaysians will be able to order official units very soon. For those who can’t wait, retailer Mobile2Go is offering imported units at RM928 for the base 4GB RAM + 32GB storage option.

At RM1,199 for the highest spec, the Mi A2 is going head to head with the likes of the ASUS ZenFone 5 and Huawei Nova 3i that are priced at RM1,299 and RM1,249 respectively. It isn’t clear if Xiaomi Malaysia will be introducing the other lower spec variants – 4GB RAM + 32GB storage and 4GB RAM + 64GB storage. The closest “stock Android” contender would be the ASUS ZenFone Max Pro 6GB RAM + 64GB storage version that’s priced at RM999. At the moment, it isn’t on sale in Malaysia yet.
