While there are compact drones like the DJI Spark or Mavic Pro, the Hover Camera Passport is designed with ease of use in mind. It’s a self-flying drone that can shoot 13MP photos or 4K videos, and it even comes with a built-in flashlight. If you’re just taking an overview shot, it uses facial and object recognition to follow you around. Taking photos can be triggered by using hand gestures.
The Hover Camera Passport weighs under 242 grams including the battery and when it’s closed, it’s only 1.3″ tall. The chassis is made of carbon fibre and it can protect the propellers from damage when it hits an object or other users. If you’re done with it, you can simply grab the drone mid-air and fold it in half.
It comes with several built-in modes including orbit, follow and 360 panorama. You can also take full control in manual mode where you can fly it using your smartphone. Each 1,360mAh battery can last up to 10 minutes of flight time and it has a top speed of 17 mph which is about 27KM/h. Unlike a proper drone, it has a limited flying range of 20 metres from your WiFi-connected smartphone.
Out of the box, you get the Hover Camera Passport, two rechargeable Lipo battery pack, a charger, power adapter, an easy carry bag and your usual documentation.
The Hover Camera Passport is officially listed at RM1,578 but you can pre-order now at only RM1,262. Gadget Goods Asia is accepting pre-orders from now until 31 July and deliveries are expected to begin from 13 August 2018.
