After introducing the mid-range ZenFone 5, ASUS Malaysia is expected to announce the ZenFone 5z on our shores very soon. Ahead of its official announcement, the official Malaysian price for this Snapdragon 845 powered flagship has been revealed on Lazada Malaysia.

According to the listing on ASUS Malaysia’s official online store, the ZenFone 5z is official priced at RM1,899. The variant that we’re getting has 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. As a comparison, the mid-range ZenFone 5 is priced at RM1,299 and it comes with a Snapdragon 636 processor, 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage.

At the moment, it isn’t clear when it will go on sale but based on this listing, we reckon that pre-orders should happen pretty soon.

To recap on the specs, the ZenFone 5z features a 6.2″ Full HD+ Super IPS+ display with a notch that offers a 90% screen to body ratio. The exterior is similar to the standard ZenFone 5 and the rear features a 12MP f/1.8 main shooter with OIS plus a secondary 8MP f/2.0 camera for wide-angle shots. Meanwhile, the front gets an 8MP f/2.0 camera for selfies. Powering the ZenFone 5z is a 3,300mAh battery which supports fast charging via USB-C and it runs on Android 8.0 Oreo with ZenUI 5.0 out of the box.

At RM1,899, the ASUS ZenFone 5z will be the most affordable Snapdragon 845 smartphone you can get with official Malaysian warranty.
