honor Malaysia expected to launch two new budget smartphones next week

Shopee and honor will be having a media event next week to announce the biggest honor sale ever in Malaysia. At the same event, they will be making two special announcements which are highly likely to be two new smartphones for our local market.

Just last week, honor had introduced their new honor 7A and honor 7C for the Indian market. Both are affordable devices with a FullView display, a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and a dual-camera setup.

honor 7A

The honor 7A is their latest entry-level device and it features a 5.7″ HD+ 720p display in an 18:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, it runs on a Snapdragon 430 processor that’s mated to 3GB RAM and 32GB of storage that accepts microSD card expansion of up to 256GB.

Despite being a budget device, it gets a dual camera 13MP + 2MP setup for depth of field effects. In front, it comes with an 8MP selfie shooter. Apart from having a fingerprint sensor, the honor 7A also comes with Face Unlock.

It’s also a dual-SIM device that has its own dedicated microSD slot. Out of the box, it runs on Android 8.0 Oreo with EMUI 8.0 and it is powered by a 3,000mAh battery.

The honor 7A in India is priced at 8,999 INR, which is about RM532. As a comparison, the current honor 6A Pro was announced locally at RM699 with 3GB RAM and 32GB of storage.

honor 7C

If you’re looking for something better, the honor 7C comes with a larger 5.99″ HD+ 720p display and it runs on a 14nm Snapdragon 450 processor. The device gets 3GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage.

The rest of the specs are similar to the honor 7A. It also gets a 13MP + 2MP dual-camera combo for the rear, while the front comes with an 8MP selfie camera that supports Face Unlock.

Powering the device is a 3,000mAh battery and it also runs on Android 8.0 Oreo with EMUI 8.0 skin on top. Overall, the honor 7C looks like a Huawei Nova 2 Lite but it gets a better Snapdragon 450 processor.

In India, the honor 7C is priced at 9,999INR which is RM592 if converted directly. If these two smartphones are coming to Malaysia, that’s a total of 4 honor smartphones priced under RM1,000. The honor 9 Lite is currently priced at RM659 while the honor 7X is going for RM849.

The Shopee X honor event is taking place on 5th June and we will be there at the launch. Stay tuned to us for the latest updates.
