Apart from introducing its new EasyPhone, Celcom has also revamped its family postpaid plan offering. The latest supplementary add-on is called Celcom Mobile Family Plan and it has more data and flexibility than the previous GBshare.
Each line still costs RM48/month and it comes with 5GB of data which can be shared with the entire family, 5GB of Video Walla for video streaming, unlimited calls to all networks, unlimited WhatsApp & WeChat and Unlimited iflix VIP access. Unlike GBShare which requires a minimum subscription of 2 lines, you can add-on as little as one Celcom Mobile Family Plan to your existing postpaid plan.
For Celcom Mobile Gold Plus (40GB), you can register up to 2 lines, while Gold Supreme (50GB) principal holders can sign up to 3 lines. Platinum (60GB) subscribers can add on up to 4, while the highest Platinum Plus (100GB) can sign up to 5 lines. Data on the family plan can be used at any time of the day as there’s no weekday or weekend quota split.
In a maximum configuration, you can get 125GB of shareable data for 6 people at RM428/month. That’s equivalent to RM71.30 per person per month and each will get an average of 20.83GB. Similar to GBshare, you can manage your shared data quota among your family lines via the Celcom Life app.
To sweeten the deal, Celcom is providing 1TB of shareable Video Walla for 12 months. For those who are not familiar, Video Walla is a separate data quota that you can use to stream YouTube, iflix, Netflix, Tonton, Astro Go, Dimsum, MOX and Daily Motion.
Celcom is also extending the EasyPhone device instalment program for supplementary line holders. You can own a Huawei P20 for RM112/month or rent it for RM103/month across 24-months.
For greater savings, you can enjoy RM300 discount for every Celcom Mobile Family Plan. For example, the iPhone 8 costs RM1,748 on contract but it can be yours for only RM248 if you have 5 Mobile Family Plan lines with you.
In case you didn’t notice, the blue telco has rebranded its Celcom FIRST postpaid to Celcom Mobile. The plan itself remains unchanged. This new Family Plan will be available from 1 June 2018 and more details will be published later on Celcom’s website.
