UPDATE: The ASUS ZenFone 5 Max Pro is officially priced from RM699 in Malaysia. Find out all you need to know here.
The ASUS ZenFone Max Pro is launching in Malaysia tomorrow and this is the first smartphone from the Taiwanese smartphone maker to come with stock Android. If you’re wondering how much it would cost, Lazada Malaysia has once again revealed its official specs and pricing ahead of its official announcement.
Like the Redmi Note 5, the ZenFone Max Pro will come in several RAM and storage options. Before the product listings were taken down, the base 3GB RAM + 32GB storage model was spotted at RM699 while the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant is reported to be listed at RM799.
As a comparison, the Redmi Note 5 3GB RAM + 32GB storage model is currently priced at RM799, while the higher spec 4GB RAM + 64GB storage option is going for RM999.
The ASUS ZenFone Max Pro is seen as a serious challenger for the Redmi Note 5, which is currently the best smartphone you can get for under RM1,000. It also gets a 5.99” Full HD+ display in a 18:9 aspect ratio and it runs on a Snapdragon 636 processor. Depending on market, it comes with up to 6GB of RAM and up to 64GB of storage which is expandable via microSD.
Over at the rear, it has a dual-camera setup that could come with either 13MP + 5MP or 16MP + 5MP combo. For the front, it comes with either an 8MP or 16MP selfie shooter depending on variant. The key highlight for the ZenFone Max Pro is its huge 5,000mAh battery and it runs on stock Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box.
