Now you can sign up for Digi services at PETRONAS

The partnership between Digi and PETRONAS has brought forth innovation for better services and rewards for their customers. Through this partnership, customers will be able to sign up for new Digi services and purchase prepaid top-ups at Kedai Mesra.

Digi pop-up booths will also be available to provide the same services for motorists without the need to enter Kedai Mesra. These services can be completed as quickly as 20 seconds at the booths, enabled by Digi’s Mobile Sales app. The booths will be available across 200 PETRONAS stations around Klang Valley area at the initial stage.

Aside from that, PETRONAS stations will be accepting vcash as an additional payment method. For now, it’s only available at PETRONAS Station in Sri Hartamas and it will be rolled out to more stations in phases. vcash is a QR-code based e-Wallet that is introduced by Digi.

Despite being a convenient solution, you can only use vcash to purchase items in Kedai Mesra. Payment for fuel using vcash is still not available for the time being. It would be great if PETRONAS is able to incorporate the vcash payment for each gas pump, that way it will really make a huge difference. Imagine being able to pay before you step out from your car like below:

Cashless payments via QR-code is already a norm in China, if that is what Digi and PETRONAS aim to achieve, they still have a long road ahead.

At the same time, the partnership of both companies on a B2B level initiated a cross-marketing collaboration between Digi’s intelligent commercial fleet tracking solution iFleet and PETRONAS’s corporate fleet card programme, PETRONAS SmartPay.

Users who sign-up for iFleet services will receive 10% off their subscriptions per month, per vehicle. Whereas, iFleet customers will receive a discount per litre of PETRONAS’ fuel when they sign up for SmartPay.

Both Digi and PETRONAS’ new services are targeted to reach all PETRONAS stations nationwide by the end of 2018.
